Planning change

After collaborating with my teammates for the first time, it was apparent to me that my team would work together proactively to finish the assignment to the best of our ability. Considering our team was formed a little late, we were all interested in similar topics and one of my teammates even has experience working on a labor and delivery unit, which is very helpful. Throughout the conversation, insightful questions on how we want to tackle the topic and what research we want to focus on were made. It made deciding on what to do relatively straightforward. Everyone on the team had something to bring to the table, whether it was first-hand experience, prior knowledge or burning questions they wanted asked and researched.

I personally will hold myself accountable by making sure that I do my part. I don’t want to hinder my team in any way and will be actively reaching out and communicating if things need to be done or if I am confused about anything. This experience will be useful to my nursing practice because it forces me to work collaboratively, which is an essential part of healthcare. It also helps me place importance and have more awareness of new and upcoming practices. Knowing what research is evidence-based will help the patient populations I’m working with have better outcomes. It is all about interprofessional teamwork implementing safe, quality, evidence-based care.
