During the course of my academic life, I have gotten into the habit of forcing myself to learn material in the span of a day, overloading my brain with materials in one sitting, instead of breaking it up into chunks. Not that it is a novel idea, but I’ve started to instill the routine of doing assignments and reading little by little throughout the course of the week. This has greatly cut down my stress levels and the overwhelming feeling of needing to catch up or learn everything all at once.
By studying and practicing gradually, I have been able to connect all of the content I’ve been taught in a more proactive way. For example, with doing the ATI modules in chunks, I am able to take my time to absorb the material, put practices into place and ask questions I need. It is important as a nurse to be able to prioritize important tasks to be able to provide safe and efficient patient care. If I am able to effectively break up my tasks, I am able to be less overburdened by the things I need to accomplish. It is about finding balance and to manage my time well so that each patient gets the proper care that they deserve.
What a lovely opening photo! Very nice reflection, so thanks for sharing.
